Directions for "Bag in a Box"

Here are directions for the "Bag in a Box"

that we made on our first night.

Bag In A Box

Supplies Needed:

Designer Series Paper and Coordinating Card Stock
Bone Folder
Sticky Strip
Round Tab Punch
Your choice of ribbon
Paper Cutter and a scoring tool
Crop-a-dile or a 1/4" hole puch

Step #1
Using your card stock cut a strip that is 11” x 2”. (set this aside)
Using your round tab punch and the same card stock punch out two shapes. (You will need one for each side of your bag.)
Set these pieces aside as you will use this later in the project.

Step #2

Cut card stock at 4-1/2” x 4-1/2”.

Step #3

With your scoring blade or score tool score 1" on all four sides of your card stock
Crease all of your score lines.

Step #4

(I don't know how to put this step in words) So you have to wait for the picture. :)

Step #5

Place Sticky Strip on the four tabs. Tape together.



Step #6

Cut your Designer Series paper 5-1/2” X 11”.

Step #7

On the wrong side of your Designer paper, place sticky strip on one long side and one short side.

Step #8

Remove the Sticky Strip from the long side only. You are now going to start adhering your box to your designer paper. Place the bottom of the box along the sticky edge (starting in the middle of a box edge so the seam will be in the back of the box). You will go all along the designer paper wrapping and adhering the paper to the bottom of the box.



Once you are almost to the end, pull of your side protective strip before adhering the bottom completely. Finish adhering your bottom then adhere your side. Stick your hand on the inside of your box/bag and smooth all seams down tightly.

Step #9

With your 2” X 11” piece of card stock that you set aside in the beginning

you will now be making the scallop for the bottom of your box.

Take your slit punch, starting at one end punch all the way across to form your scallop edge.


Step #10

Place Sticky Strip along the bottom of your scallop edge.

Remove the protective backing.

Starting at the seam in the back of your box adhere the scallop

to the bottom of your box.

Again, stick your hand inside the box to guide

and adhere scallop tightly.


Step #11

Using your ¼” circle punch you will punch holes at the top of your Round Tab punch.

Punch approximately 1/8” from the fold. Place sticky strip on both ends of the round tab punch-outs. Remove the protective strip and place one tab on the front portion and one on the back portion. Run your ribbon through the holes on the tabs and tie.
